Early Bird 

Early Bird is a fresh, zingy and flavour-packed low alcohol IPA! It uses a classic pairing of Australian and New Zealand hops to conjure up notes of gooseberry and grapefruit, complemented by stunning floral undertones. The finish is enticingly dry with hints of lemon.

We were very keen to add a Low Alcohol offering to our range, we also wanted to ensure it had lots of flavour so we have brewed this as close to our usual beers as possible, just at less than 0.5%. The malt base is light but we have used some classic American hops, Amarillo and Cascade, for a kick of lemon, peach and apricot. We also add a touch of orange peel as well with the light pithiness giving a little extra mouthfeel and overall character.

Originally brewed with the amazing Cocoa Wonderland Chocolate Shop in Sheffield, the very first cask we packaged was crowned ‘Beer of the Festival’ in Sheffield. It has been one of our most popular beers ever since, going on to win more awards in the UK and in numerous countries worldwide as well. It is one of our core bottled beers and still available in cask from time to time, usually in the winter months. It’s made to be a Porter first, with a balanced roasty body bringing flavours of coffee and raisins, then huge chocolate notes on the nose and palate.
