The first of many delicious products to come out of Foodhall and Social Pickle this is Sheffield Apple Cider Vinegar.
Lovingly made with gathered and donated apples from the city's trees, transformed through fermentation (pure alchemy!) into a delicious, healthy, raw apple cider vinegar. (Unfiltered and unpasteurised, with mother; retaining all it's good bacteria).
The team behind the project met as a group of volunteers whilst cooking throughout lockdown at the social eating space-turned food delivery project, FOODHALL. They galvanized the energy and skills they each had as amateur picklers and wandering foragers.
Social Pickle wants to build on these food foundations and capture the growing reconnection that the world is developing with it's ingredients and methods. By offering workshops in preservation techniques, outings and forages to witness and taste the flavours of our landscape, they believe we can take better care of ourselves, our land and our community. This is Sheffield Culture at a bacterial level.
